3 months ago in Local Photo: WHCU ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – A Tompkins County leader charged keeping the public informed explains the process during the pandemic. Communications Director Dominick Recckio says during COVID-19 there’s been a sense of nervousness in the community because of the health risks and scattered information. “So when people look to the county for communications, we want to make sure those things are providing reassurance to the community. We want to make sure that it’s critical public information, and we want to make sure it’s keeping people safe. Those are the guiding principles we look at if the communication falls under one of those or ideally all of those three things, we will deliver a compassionate, clear message to the community,” said Dominick Recckio, Tompkins County Communications Director.

Following a 10-day quarantine, individuals must continue to monitor themselves for symptoms for an additional four days. If symptoms develop during these days, the individual must immediately isolate and contact the Health Department at 607-274-6604 or their primary care provider to determine if testing is needed.
