NOW ALL THREE WILL BE AROUND A WHILE LOER NG DON MCGRAW, WHO FREQUENTLY VISITED TYBEE ISLAND WLEHI WORKING AS A BARTENDER IN SAVANNAH, NOW LIVES ON TYBEE FULLTIME AFTER RECENTLY PURCHASING THE PROPERTIES. My first-ever visit to Savannah was a solo one. I had just graduated college in Ohio and although I was applying literally coast-to-coast, I didn’t have a solid job, yet. This was my chance to travel, to visit friends and be free before the boughs of employment tied me down for undetermined amounts of time to one spot.
I arrived to Tybee Island about 7 a.m., I checked myself into the Dunes Inn and napped until noon. Once I was up, I hopped on a Captain Derek’s Dolphin Adventure boat ride, took myself to Sting Ray’s and had a tall glass of RJ Rockers Brewing Company’s Son of a Peach. I also walked to the IGA and bought myself some NV Mei
This week promises a varied array of entertainment choices. You can take in a concert, watch a play, get physical or help save wildlife. Or you can do everything it’s not an either/or decision. Whatever you choose, there’s always something going on that you’ll find of interest.
‘Tracers,’ at Flagler College Lewis Auditorium
The play, about “grunts” during the Vietnam War, moves with the men from basic training to combat in Vietnam and deals with their realization “that their lives will be forever affected by the horrors that they have witnessed and been a part of.”
