“Peace Holdings signed an MOU with Treaty 8 in 2019 on developing our property for something that would benefit their community and the community at large as well,” says Brar.
Initial discussions focused on an elder centre, which eventually switched to filling healthcare needs in the community.
Bonshor and the First Nations Health Authority have been in contact to discuss a partnership on the health centre, says Brar. Northern Health, BC Housing, and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation will also be involved in the development.
