Die Geschichte der Menschheit sei voll von Abgrenzungen, von gezogenen Linien und Barrieren, hat der deutsche Journalist und freie Autor Tobias Prüwer vor drei Jahren in seinem Buch „Welt aus Mauern“ geschrieben. „An den Mauern kann man einiges ablesen über den Stand der Welt“, heißt es darin. Sie müssten nicht einmal sichtbar sein, um schwer überwindbar zu sein. Prüwer nennt sie „Prothesen der Freiheit“.

FOOTBALL clubs are not doing enough to tackle sectarianism, according to the man behind the country s largest anti-sectarianism education project. Sense Over Sectarianism will mark its 20th anniversary in July, reaching thousands of primary and secondary school pupils every year. Mark Adams, who runs the scheme, said he is frustrated by the constant claims that more should be done in schools to tackle Scotland s shame . The problem, he says, is not with children and young people but with adult influences in their lives. Mark, development officer for Sense Over Sectarianism, said: One of the great frustrations is that it s too easy to say we should be educating kids about this - we already are educating kids.

Jean Allman and Lilianna Solnica-Krezel will receive Washington University in St. Louis’ 2021 faculty achievement awards, Chancellor Andrew D. Martin announced.
Allman, PhD, the J.H. Hexter Professor in the Humanities and professor of African and African American studies, as well as director of the Center for the Humanities, all in Arts & Sciences, will receive the Arthur Holly Compton Faculty Achievement Award. Solnica-Krezel, PhD, the Alan A. and Edith L. Wolff Distinguished Professor and head of the Department of Developmental Biology at the School of Medicine, will receive the Carl and Gerty Cori Faculty Achievement Award.
