SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The Shreveport woman accused of stealing almost $80,000 from her employer was sentenced on Thursday, Dec. 17, in Caddo District Court.
Laquanisha Leroycia McCoy, 24, was sentenced to 15 years in prison at hard labor by District Judge Charles Tutt. McCoy was convicted in Judge Tutt’s court on Dec. 2, 2020.
McCoy worked at a local family-owned small business from March 2017 to June 2018. In June the business was contacted by their credit card processing company alerting them to eight fraudulent refunds on the business’s account, totaling $78,933.03. Further investigation showed the transactions went into McCoy’s bank account.

Lower Burrell police said an Arnold woman who wrecked her car at Burrell Lake Park on Saturday tried to take an officer’s gun and Taser, and hit, kicked and spit on officers as they arrested her.
Michelle Pusateri, 37, also faces charges of child endangerment because police said she was driving under the influence with her 4-year-old son in the car.
Police said Pusateri fought them at the scene of the crash, in the police car, again when they reached the police station and after she was placed in a holding cell.

Bradley K. Nicholson of White in Fayette County was released from the county prison on $25,000 bond after his arrest on charges of harassment and stalking filed by state police in Greensburg.
Trooper Corey Folino said Nicholson’s ex-girlfriend, who lives in Mt. Pleasant Township, told investigators she grew suspicious last month when she saw Nicholson following her on several occasions while she was driving to locations in Fayette and Westmoreland counties.
