The Conselho de Imprensa (Press Council) of Timor-Leste (CITL) has expressed its serious concerns at the misleading representation of the situation of press freedom in Myanmar at the recent Dili Dialogue Forum by a representative of the Myanmar Press Council, following consultation with the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ). The IFJ welcomes this action from the CITL and condemns the junta’s continued misrepresentation and repression of freedom of expression and freedom of the press in Myanmar.
