The news of the cancellation of the event which, each year, honours Cornwall and area residents for their effort in preserving and promoting French culture in the area was made earlier this week, by ACFO-SDG president Dianne Poirier. ACFO-SDG partners with the Club Richelieu de Cornwall to hold the annual event, and name a deserving individual for recognition on the Water Street monument.

“Our lives have drastically changed since January 2020,” said Poirier in an email. “We unfortunately took the decision to cancel the promenade of honour 2021 for the second straight year.”

Fans of French literature can rejoice the Association Canadienne-française de l’Ontario of SDG (ACFO-SDG), with the help of a handful of partners, is set to unveil four webinars featuring the work of four local authors whose work was published following a 2019 literary contest.
“Each year, l’ACFO SDG offers cultural programming to the Cornwall and SDG community,” said ACFO SDG president Dianne Poirier. “During the pandemic, our organization decided to invite local organization to present a series of issues through webinars.”
