5 6-kg heroin seized; 4 peddlers held in Tarn Taran

905 Tribune News Service Amritsar, July 16 The Tarn Taran police have arrested four drug peddlers and confiscated 5.6 kg of heroin from their possession. The police have recovered drug proceeds to the tune of Rs 2 lakh, besides an SUV (Hyundai Creta) from two of the suspects. Separate cases under the NDPS Act have been registered against them and further investigations were under progress. Contraband seized by the Tarn Taran police Acting on a tip-off, the Tarn Taran police have arrested Kabal Singh and Surta Singh, both residents of Dal village, who were allegedly found to be involved in cross border smuggling. Preliminary probe revealed that this was their first assignment from across the border near Dal border outpost. Cops identified the spot and shared information with the Border Security Force, said Tarn Taran SSP Dhruman H Nimbale. 395 Our Correspondent Tarn Taran, June 1 The district police today claimed to have solved the Patti double murder case in which two residents Amandeep Singh Fauji and Prabhdeep Singh, alias Pooran were shot on May 27, while their third associate was injured seriously. A case under Sections 302, 307 and 34 of the IPC, and Sections 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act was registered by the Patti city police. SSP Dhruman H Nimbale said the killings were the outcome of personal enmity between two groups involving gangsters. Though the police had arrested three suspects Malkit Singh Laddoo of Patti, Paramjit Singh Pamma of Harike and Manpreet Singh, alias Manna, of Manochahal the suspected shooters were still at large. Two pistols with nine cartridges were recovered from them.
