Updated: 9:49 PM EDT Jul 13, 2021 By Russ Reed Tuesday marked the end of the 2021 Major League Baseball draft, and more than a dozen players with Massachusetts ties were selected over the course of the three-day event.Boston College outfielder Sal Frelick and Wake Forest University right-handed pitcher Ryan Cusick were drafted in the first round on Sunday.Frelick, a three-sport star at Lexington High School, was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers with the 15th overall pick. Cusick, a Sudbury native who starred at Lincoln-Sudbury High School, was picked by the Atlanta Braves with the 24th overall selection.Two of Frelick s Boston College teammates were chosen on Day 2 of the draft on Monday. Cody Morissette, a shortstop from Exeter, New Hampshire, went to the Miami Marlins at No. 52 in the second round while Emmet Sheehan, a right-handed pitcher from Darien, Connecticut, was picked by the Los Angeles Dodgers at No. 192 in the sixth round.Josh Baez, of the Dexter South
Needham resident wins club lacrosse national championship

Needham resident Max Goldberg is on a team that recently won the Club Lacrosse National Championship in Kissimmee, Florida.
A seventh grade student athlete at Dexter Southfield School in Brookline, Goldberg was selected for the second consecutive year with three other 3d New England lacrosse players in his age bracket to play on the 3d National Team.
The team went undefeated (10-0) through two tournaments, beating other top U.S. club lacrosse teams en route to the national title.
Goldberg plays close defense, having first picked up the long pole at the age of seven, and has played competitively in both field and box lacrosse year-round ever since. The son of Adam and Kathy Goldberg, he is also the brother of Alexandra Goldberg, a level 10 gymnast who has similarly represented her local club, Exxcel Gymnastics, in a national-level competition.
