Suburban Man Charged In Fatal Attempted Carjacking in Morgan Park

Replies(18) Devin Barron, 20 (Chicago Police Department) CHICAGO A third person has been charged in the attempted carjacking that left a retired Chicago firefighter dead. Devin Barron, 20, of Lynwood, has been charged with felony first degree murder and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Barron is also facing a misdemeanor count for possession of cannabis. Chicago police said Barron was also a fugitive from justice who was wanted on an out-of-state warrant. On Dec. 3, retired CFD Lt. Dwain Williams was leaving a popcorn store in Morgan Park when police said he was approached by four men driving a stolen Ford Fusion. The men were believed to be after Williams Jeep Grand Cherokee. There was an exchange of gunfire between Williams, who held a conceal-carry license, and the four men, police said. Williams suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
