Greek Parliament approves bill on production and sale of medicinal cannabis

Parties voted for a draft law allowing the cultivation and sale of pharmaceutical cannabis in Parliament’s plenary session on Friday night. A roll-call vote, requested by main opposition SYRIZA, registered 158 votes for and 33 against. The bill was rejected by MPs of the Communist Party of Greece, Greek Solution and MeRA 25. Syriza itself abstained from the vote to protest the fact the roll-call vote was not carried out in person. Movement for Change (KINAL), which initially said they would support the bill, abstained also, charging that holding roll-call votes requested by Syriza when that party does not participate in them undermines parliamentary procedures.

Greece: Ban on Take-Away Food Orders Revoked

Ευρωκίνηση 2/6/2021 Athens News Agency      ATHENS A ban on take-away orders at food stores in Athens, Thessaloniki and Chalkidiki over weekends that was announced on Saturday by the Development & Investments Ministry was revoked later on the day by Minister Adonis Georgiadis. In an announcement, the minister explained that “the government assessed anew that the temporary suspension of take-away orders would create more confusion and cause more problems. Therefore, we announce that take-away orders will be carried out in Athens, Thessaloniki and Chalkidiki on weekends as it was valid until today.”  

Greek Shops Will Be Allowed to Partially Open on Monday

Therefore, shops without an e-shop can use the Development & Investments Ministry s online platform https://e-katanalotis.gov.gr/ to send their customers SMS messages, free-of-charge, to update them on their orders so they can pick them up in person.
