Metro Detroit company creates Office Olympics to help welcome staff back to work
BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – A company in Birmingham is using the Olympics to make the return to the office a little bit smoother.
White Glove, a financial advisor marketing service company, hopes the use of the Olympics makes the return something employees can look forward to.
“I’m an extrovert. I’ve been dying to get back in the office,” VP Product Marketing Lara Galloway said.
The company kicked off a week-long event, the office Olympics.

Detroit animal control asks residents to watch stay animals
Detroit Animal Care and Control has been apparently asking residents to watch stray animals because it is over capacity.
DETROIT (FOX 2) - When a teen called Detroit Animal Care and Control about a stray dog in her neighborhood, the animal control officer apparently asked her family to keep the dog in their backyard and did not tell them when they may be back to get it. Apparently animal control responded and secured the dog but said they couldn t take the dog because the shelter was full, said Theresa Sumpter, with Detroit Pit Crew. We don t know the temperament of that dog – if it s scared, if it might hurt someone.

Many dogs adopted during the pandemic are finding themselves back in shelters as their adopters head back to work.
DETROIT (FOX 2) - Detroit Dog Rescue saw a boom in pet adoptions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the very beginning, I said that dogs were really kind of saving everybody because no one knew what to do. We were locked in our house. Dogs really came through, said Kristina Rinaldi, with DDR. People wanted to foster they wanted to adopt. It made people feel good and it gave dogs a home.

DETROIT – Saving dogs and helping dog owners is a big job for a little team with only two trucks but that isn’t slowing down Detroit Dog Rescue.
Many pet owners face a lack of transportation, money and education that inadvertently puts their dogs at risk.
Kristina Rinaldi is the executive director of Detroit Dog Rescue.
“We are finding frozen dogs, sometimes it is just the volumes of calls and we are just too late,” Rinaldi said.
