The Hawai’i Police Department arrested and charged Jerome Leader, 32, with assault after witnesses saw him involved with an incident in downtown Hilo that resulted in substantial injuries to the face and spine of a 71-year-old man.
He was reportedly last seen on Aug. 16 in the Hilo area. He is known to frequent Clem Akina Park in Wainaku and the Clubhouse on Kilauea Avenue in Hilo.
William Everette Brownfield, 45, was last seen April 2 in Hilo. He is 5-foot-11, weighs 215 pounds and has a light complexion, with short brown hair, green eyes and numerous tattoos.
