A fresh update has arrived for PS5 exclusive Destruction AllStars, with version 1.2.4 being pushed live alongside a short period of server maintenance this afternoon.. The update is geared toward stamping out a handful of game crashes and glitches, as well as catering to players down under with new servers.
Servers are down at the time of writing, but should be back up shortly. The planned downtime is for an estimated 10 minutes, followed by background maintenance for a further hour, as Lucid Games spin up a new server region to cater to PlayStation 5 owners in Australia, New Zealand and other nearby countries. In order to support this, you’ll now be able to change your multiplayer region from the main menu.
Ratchet & Clank. And today, Sony announced that
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will launch on June 11th exclusively for the PS5.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will have the titular characters traveling across multiple realities as they try to stop a dastardly emperor who is attempting to exterminate organic life from all the universes. Like other titles on Sony’s next-gen console, the game will take advantage of the PS5’s hardware, including support for ray tracing, and it will take advantage of the DualSense game controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
The game was originally announced last June during Sony’s next-gen showcase. A few months later, Sony released seven minutes of new gameplay footage at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2020.
Would you believe that
Crazy Del has already bagged the Destruction AllStars platinum? Well he has!
doomsday619 completed the DLC Beowulf Mission in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, played some COD Zombies in splitscreen with his sons, has been working his way through Hitman 3 on PSVR, and ramming it up in Destruction AllStars as well. Busy week!
It was Concrete Genie and Control (on PS4) for
MrYd, with some Darksiders Genesis from PS Now, “too much” Hitman 3 in VR, and a quick dash to grab the “5 level 50 characters” trophy in Hunt: Showdown.
After 55 hours spent in Night City,
TSBonyman feels the game is “all going to be over too soon”, so he’s branching off to do a bunch of side missions to savour the rest of it.
U-turn. Updated on 9 February 2021 In desperate need of depth and content, Destruction AllStars is at least a fun whizz around the corner.
Destruction AllStars is saved, really, by PlayStation Plus. Launching as a game all subscribers can play, Lucid s PlayStation 5-exclusive arcade racer crash em-up feels like a fun but throwaway download that benefits from weighing in at just 28GB - a smaller size than your average Call of Duty patch. In this context, it s easy to give Destruction AllStars a shot on a whim, and when you discover there s not much to it, well, that s okay. It s free, it s inoffensive, and it s a bit of a laugh. No harm done.
