COVID-19 in Iowa: Which school employees get vaccine first? It depends.

Des Moines Register To be first in line to get vaccinations from their school district, staff in the Iowa City Community School District must be 50 or older and spend at least half the day at a school building. In the Ames Community School District, teachers with medical conditions went to the front of the line. In the Waukee Community School District, it s first come, first served. School employees have been eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Iowa since Feb. 1, when Phase 1B began in Iowa. But who gets the first doses of the scarce and sought-after vaccine and why they get to be first   differs from place to place.
