Newtown councillor steps down to focus on cat rescue group

A Newtown councillor has stepped down from her role on the town council. Cllr Kelly Healy, who represented the North ward, is leaving her position due to an increase in work commitments with the Newtown-based stray cat rehoming group, Kelly s Kat Rescue. My decision to step down from the town council was due to my commitment with the cat rescue, she said. Over the last couple of years, I have become increasingly busy and I therefore feel I am unable to give the Town Council the one hundred per cent commitment that it deserves. I would like to thank the town council for the opportunity and wish all councillors and staff the best for the future.
