Mayo County Council bring 70 void homes back into use
Mayo County Council brought 70 vacant social homes back into use in 2020.
Over 500,000 euro in funding had been secured for the restoration of 45 so called ‘void’ homes by the authority back in September.
The fund was increased to over 773,000 euro at the end of 2020 to allow for an additional 25 homes to be brought online by the local authority.
The new social housing units are located around the county, predominately in the main towns.
Fianna Fail Deputy Dara Calleary told Midwest News that special recognition goes to Mayo County Council for the hard work they put into bringing these homes back online.
