DENNIS - Two articles seeking funding for the first phase of the town s wastewater plan were met with mixed results at Saturday s annual town meeting.
Voters passed Article 31, which sought the transfer of $300,000 from the Solar Special Revenue Fund to the Wastewater Stabilization Fund, by a vote of 149-73. But voters did not pass Article 32, which sought the use of $660,000 from the Wastewater Stabilization Fund to pay for a preliminary design and survey for phase 1 of the wastewater treatment plan.
Though the article did win a majority vote, with 134 voting yes and 74 voting no, it did not obtain the necessary 2/3 majority vote needed to pass.

How long have you served on the Board of Selectmen? Why are you running again?
I have served on the board for the last three years, and I have been proud and grateful to represent Bourne. This board has been highly professional and a pleasure to work with. We have tackled all of the challenges that have come our way, together. There are several challenges ahead for our town including wastewater, transportation infrastructure, development, and housing, and I would like to continue to keep our community on the proactive and innovative approach that we have initiated.
