An 11-year-old lacrosse player has come up with a heartwarming way to show love and support to the family of Craig Wende, the goalie for the Georgia Swarm. Wende and his wife recently lost their baby girl.
The horn sounded and Miami Coach Katie Meier turned to start jumping and hugging her staff as players and cheerleaders sprinted past for a meet-at-midcourt celebration. She soon made her way into the crowd to embrace players hollering with delight, then emerged through the other side to trade hugs and high-fives with the main front-row section of Hurricanes fans.
They were up 21 points at the start of the third, then they were down with less than a minute on the clock. Sophomore guard Jasmyne Roberts sank a floater, got fouled, and then hit two free throws to bring the ninth-seeded Miami Hurricanes back into the lead against fourth-seeded Villanova with 37 seconds left on the clock.
No one has been able to keep up with Villanova's Maddy Siegrist all season. LSU's Angel Reese has been putting up her own video-game numbers with unrelenting and remarkable consistency.
