The city s requirement for medical oxygen is currently about 700 metric tonnes. On Wednesday, the daily quota was hiked to 480 tonnes from 378 tonnes after the Centre’s intervention. As much as 70 tonnes of the increased quota of 100 tonnes has to come from Odisha. Since it will take 72 hours for it to reach by road, Delhi is now looking to airlift it.

Delhi govt forms oxygen audit committee to monitor stocks, consumption April 20, 2021 Will also identify areas of wasteful consumption and suggest measures for economising use In the wake of acute shortage of medical oxygen in the national capital, the Delhi Government has formed a 24-member oxygen audit committee to ensure continuous monitoring of the oxygen stocks and their consumption. The committee has been tasked to carry out daily stock of receipts, consumption and balance stock. It will ensure that the use of oxygen for management of Covid-19 patients is rational and per prescribed treatment protocols, official sources said. The committee will have to submit its report to the nodal officer-in-charge of the hospital latest by 5 pm everyday.

Covid-9 spike: Delhi reports 19,486 cases on April 16 April 16, 2021 The test positivity rate stands at 19.69% Amidst a sharp surge in Covid-19 cases in ongoing fourth wave, the national capital Delhi added 19,486 new cases in last 24 hours on Friday. This is highest ever daily surge in new cases for the national capital since the beginning of the pandemic last year. It also came at a time when the capital will go in for a weekend curfew beginning Friday night to Monday morning. While 98,957 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, the positivity rate stood at worrying level of 19.69 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 61005. As many as 143 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, the Delhi State Health Bulletin said on Friday evening.
