SUNDERLAND May 25 marks one year since George Floyd was killed by former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin, and the communities of South Deerfield and Sunderland plan to observe the occasion with a march and vigil.

DEERFIELD Monday’s election will involve one contested race that sees five candidates vying for three seats on the Planning Board.
Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Town Hall. Planning Board
In the race for Planning Board, Mark Brennan Jr., Andrea Leibson and Kathleen Sylvester are challenging incumbents Max Antes Jr. and Rachel Blain.
Brennan who said he is passionate about protecting the rural character of Deerfield, while also “allowing for healthy economic development” currently serves on the Capital Improvements Planning Committee and works as the director of development operations at a software company.
