putting more money into the hands of american consumers. rich or poor, it doesn t matter. consumer spending drives the economy. the only thing talking points can think of is that president obama really doesn t want a budget deal. a debt compromise. that is he hoping the country will blame the republicans for the chaos. and that he will be a reelected on that sentiment. once back in office, the president can continue to grow the government and provide so-called social justice political philosophy. s it s a gamble. i think that s what s going on. the president could have had a deal with 800 billion in new revenue. he said no. he wants 1.2 trillion more from the taxpayers. and the republicans simply aren t going to do it. as an american, i m angry about this situation. it s totally out of control. there is little leadership coming forth. the entire world is watching america, wondering if we have lost our minds. you can t owe $14.5 trillion and be fighting about spending cuts. that s insan
boehner. last thursday, we went over the tea party objections to any debt compromise and some of you were angry with that analysis. as dhak reiterated charles krauthammer reiterated last night the tea party is a problem when compromise becomes necessary. president obama has the same kind of problem from the far left. the insidious move on organization is actually threatening any democrat who doesn t toe the far left line that is raise taxes. president obama is also being intimidated by the far left. i just don t get this giving away the store. never thought he would be caving on the revenue side of it i thought that was his line in the sand. and he has this reputation as a guy who is always caving into the republicans. they want to destroy food safety, a clean air, clean water, the department of education. they want to destroy your rights. they do not like government. there are millions of americans who are deeply

extending the government borrowing authority. shortly after it was approved in the u.s. senate. chief congressional correspondent mike emanuel is here with that part of the story. good evening. good evening. there were times in the past several weeks where it looked like congress might not find a debt compromise in the end, many lawmakers say they didn t love the deal but voted to avoid default. ayes are 74, the nays are 26. after weeks of battle they volted in a bipartisan way to send debt compromise to cut 2.1 trillion in deficit to the president. before the vote, the senate republican leader praised the party for holding the line and starting to turn things around. slowing down the big government freight train from the current trajectory will give us the time we need to work toward a real solution, or give the miles per hour people the time they need to have their voices heard. reporter: but the debt deal involved senate and house top leaders selecting three members each f
the factor begins right now. captions by closed captioning services bill: hi, i m bill o reilly. thanks for watching us tonight. is the tea party self-destructive? that is the subject of this evening s talking points memo. from the beginning i have supported the tea party because i believe it empowers individual americans always a good thing. also the tea party wants fiscal responsibility and a smaller federal government. again, those are good things as well. but now the tea party has come to a crossroads. some of its members simply do not want to raise the debt ceiling and that could be catastrophic. today, standard and poor s met with republicans in the house to tell them there is a 50/50 chance america s a.a.a. bond rating will be cut if no debt compromise is reached. the goal of any legislation should be to strengthen the country. there is a way to raise the national debt ceiling while at the same time drastically cutting federal spending and reforming the unfair tax code.
