going forward but he did what he needed to do and he walked out the winner not the loser. yeah. i think that it included the comments where he called certain countries horrible names. i don t know well, i wouldn t ever excuse those kinds of comments. on the other hand, when you take them out and start spreading them around and exacerbate the situation, you have to ask yourself whether you re being helpful or not but the issue there was in my view you should haven t tried to end run the process. we had senators coming in with what they thought was a deal but it wasn t an acceptable deal to the standpoint of the president, it would have never gotten through the house. let s go back and put everybody at the negotiating table, it has to sign off on this thing, not just a group of senators. i m sorry, the constitution demands it get through the house and demands the president sign it. so if those people are not at the table, your chances of getting a deal go down.
companies like boeing and airbus were able to sell nearly 250 airplanes to iranian civilian authorities. that is a significant amount of money and a significant amount of manufacturing jobs here in the united states. almost to the tune of $30 billion. so for a president who has argued to his domestic bass, he s wanting to bring back domestic jobs, particularly the manufacturing sector, his actions on this deal go contrary to what his base should be supporting p. what his supporters say in fact what this shows is that he s keeping his word, that he has said from day one when he was running for president, he thought this was a terrible deal, we had to get rid of this deal, that in fact the metsage it sends to particularly our adversaries is not that the u.s. doesn t keep its word, it s that this president does keep his word and he will be a lot tougher than hid predecessor. yeah. well, look, first of all, we re not backing out of the iranian accord. he kicked the can down the road to
expected, really bites hard into the iranian nuclear program for quite a long time. i think as you heard in the hearing, a lot of the objection was really directed at the idea that iran would, in fact, get economic relief and concern about non-nuclear dimensions in terms of using those resources. so the main objections that i heard to the deal go as follows, that people like alan cooperman who say the centrifuges first of all there should have been more centrifuges disconnected, and more importantly, they re not destroyed, but merely disconnected. that iran still has in a storage room somewhere these thousands of centrifuges it could reconnect very quickly and therefore your breakout time scenarios are unreasonable, they could much more quickly race to the amount of material to make a bomb. is that fair? that is actually incorrect.
