Panama City cook serves Mexican food filled with rich stories from her travels
PANAMA CITY When Debbie Longe stepped out of her RV by the Chipola River near the Dead Lakes with the moss hanging down and Cypress stumps growing out of the river, she knew she d found the area she wanted to call home.
After growing up in Schenectady, New York, and taking a two-year detour through Mexico followed by a stint in Los Angeles, she recognized the tranquil beauty Northwest Florida offered. Just picking up and traveling the U.S. to find a spot to settle was not foreign to Longe, who took a break from college to travel to Mexico, home of her boyfriend at the time.
