Delays Ahead: Status of 6 Davidson County road projects

Delays Ahead: Status of 6 Davidson County road projects The Dispatch It s a new year but the impact of 2020 is still felt throughout the country, even in the areas you d least expect. Due to continued revenue shortfalls which were compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic, most transportation projects by the North Carolina Department of Transportation in Davidson County and throughout the state have been delayed or rescheduled.  “Prior to the pandemic, we were seeing the financial effect of the hurricanes, winter storms, and a lawsuit against the department. All of that, plus the drop in the statewide gas tax and car sales because of COVID contributed to the problems… We had to reprioritize all projects based on our reduction in revenue,” said Pat Ivey, NCDOT Division Engineer.
