Davidoff 702 Series Goes on Hiatus It’s not permanently “discontinued,” but Davidoff has confirmed that it will no longer sell its 702 Series once the current inventory runs out. Over the last few weeks, some sales representatives have begun informing retailers that the cigar would no longer be sold once the remaining inventory of the Davidoff 702 Series. Davidoff Limited Edition Robusto Intenso (2005) – halfwheel

Release Date: 2005 Number of Cigars Smoked For Review: 1 Visually, the Davidoff Robusto Intenso is covered in a pale, golden brown wrapper that is almost totally devoid of oil, although that does not stop it from being excessively smooth to the touch. The cigar does feature a noticeable soft spot halfway between the secondary band and the foot and is nicely firm when squeezed. Aroma from the wrapper and foot is a combination of aged cedar, old hay, dark chocolate, earth, day-old coffee and a touch of floral flavors, while the cold draw brings flavors of the same aged cedar, creamy peanuts, coffee beans, earth, cocoa nibs, floral and a small amount of cinnamon along with some distinct albeit fairly light vanilla sweetness.

Davidoff Limited Edition 2021 Year of the Ox – halfwheel

Release Date: November 2020 Number of Cigars Smoked For Review: 3 My first thought is that I really wish this cigar wasn’t this big. I know that it’s going to be a long afternoon, and this is the first of three cigars I will smoke for the review. As is often the case with cigars of this size, the wrapper isn’t as flawless as a normal Davidoff robusto. There are some veins and wrapper stretching, the latter of which is a bit odd for a Davidoff. The aroma from the wrapper is a medium-plus mixture of barnyard, birdseed, and a salty broth flavor. The foot is medium-full with a sweeter profile that includes raisins, root beer, caramel and minor amounts of barnyard. There’s an even sweeter cold draw with notes of cherry cola, peanuts, syrup and a generic fruitiness.
