GRAND HAVEN A 30-year-old Grand Haven man will spend a minimum 15 years in prison for fatally stabbing his roommate nearly two years ago reports the Grand Haven Tribune.
Justin David Streeter was ordered this week to serve between 15 and 50 years in prison for the death of 55-year-old Thomas Allen Kennedy. Judge Karen Miedema handed down the sentence Tuesday, April 27, in Grand Haven Circuit Court.
Streeter, who turns 31 in a couple of days, was given credit for 660 days already served in jail.
In March, Streeter pleaded guilty but mentally ill to a charge of second-degree murder. At the time, he was lodged at the Center for Forensic Psychiatry in Saline.
