Jan 25, 2021 David Raih has reportedly found his next coaching gig, one that will place him back in the college ranks for the first time in over seven years. After serving as the wide receivers coach for the Arizona Cardinals in the last two seasons under the new regime of head coach Kliff Kingsbury, Raih was reportedly released from his contractual obligation by the franchise in early January. Reports indicate the position has since been filled by Shawn Jefferson, who was most recently assistant head coach/receivers coach  with the New York Jets. Before making the jump to the NFL with the Green Bay Packers, Raih had climbed his way up at Texas Tech when Kingsbury was the head coach there and was the quarterbacks and outside receivers coach in his final season in 2013.

Jan 22, 2021 Following the surprising departure of Cardinals receivers coach David Raih after the conclusion of the season, multiple reports have head coach Kliff Kingsbury hiring Shawn Jefferson to fill that role. Jefferson has had a long career as a player and assistant coach in the NFL dating back to 1991 when he was a ninth-round pick (240th overall) by the Houston Oilers. While he never played for the Oilers, Jefferson had 470 receptions for 7,023 yards (14.9-yard average) and 29 touchdowns with the formerly-known San Diego Chargers (five seasons), New England Patriots (four), Atlanta Falcons (three) and Detroit lions (one) from 1991 to 2003. His best seasons were with the Patriots from 1996-99, when he averaged 17.3 yards per catch including a league-leading average of 22.7 in 1998. Had he stayed, he might have fared better with Matt LaFleur as the head coach. Fitz has said how much he likes working with Raih. Hopkins seems keen on him too.
