Dr. Groce is the president and ceo of the georgia Historical Society. He has 25 Years Experience as an educator and administrator. He has raised 52,000 for Educational Programs and endowment. Born in virginia but more importantly, raised in tennessee, he graduated with honors in history from the university of memphis and earned an ma from the university of tennessee. While in graduate school, he taught American History at the university of tennessee and maryville college. In 1990, he began his career in public history. He served five years in knoxville as the executive director of the east Tennessee Historical society and taking it to the next level through the development of a regional history museum.
