A DEPRAVED pensioner “fantasised about abusing a person’s granddaughter” in messages exchanged on a mobile phone app. Russell Schofield was found with hundreds of indecent images of children after his home was raided by police. The 69-year-old, of Furtherwick Road, Canvey, had his home raided on June 18 last year and computers and phones were seized. Police found two category A images – the most serious kind – along with 19 category B, and 262 category C images. Schofield was also in possession of 43 extreme images, depicting sexual activity involving animals. Prosecuting at Schofield’s sentencing at Basildon Crown Court, Robert Forrest said that chats from the messaging app “Kik” also revealed Schofield’s sordid fantasies.

PR boss Nick Boakes, 65, and his husband Harald Denker faced off in court with Jonathan Hagmaier and his wife, Mary, after accusing them of polluting the luxury London flat with smoke and leaving his £10,000 rug infested with moths and snails .
Mr Boakes had rented the £50,000-a-year basement flat of his Grade-II listed Victorian house in Warwick Avenue, Little Venice, to the US power couple in 2018.
Mr and Mrs Hagmaier, who themselves own over 100 properties as part of an investment scheme, were based in the UK for two years and were charmed by the elegant Italianate building in a street where properties sell for up to £10m.
