The Gopher men's hockey team, SCSU men's hockey team, St. Cloud Norsemen, and Granite City Lumberjacks all put up impressive wins on Friday, and the Minnesota Timberwolves dropped a heartbreaker to the Nets. Meanwhile, the NDSU football team, SCSU men's basketball team, and Minnesota Wild are getting ready to return to action on Saturday.
Senior forwards each pick up a goal Saturday, help 3rd-ranked Huskies go 9-for-9 on the penalty kill in series sweep over Badgers. SCSU also gets 31 saves from junior Jaxon Castor in his 1st start of the season.
The Gophers, playing seven underclassmen, dominated play early but fell 2-1 to the veteran-laden Huskies. The same two teams play Saturday in St. Cloud.
