IPL 2021 has been suspended due to the virus
Many Australian cricketers have been left stranded in India
With their country shut for all those flying from India, the now-suspended IPL s Australian contingent, comprising players, support staff and commentators, is expected to head to Maldives before taking a connecting flight for home. The IPL was indefinitely suspended on Tuesday after multiple cases of COVID-19 emerged from Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, SunRisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings. There are 14 Australian players along with coaches and commentators who might now take a detour as the Australian government has imposed strict sanctions for people returning from India.
IPL 2021: SunRisers Hyderabad on Saturday named Kane Williamson as the team's new captain for the rest of the season. SRH, who are at the bottom of the points table, were led by David Warner in their first six games this season.

RCB won by 1 run
AB de Villiers played an unbeaten knock of 75 runs off 42 balls as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) posted 171/5 against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday. With his knock, De Villiers also became the second overseas cricketer to reach 5000 runs in the IPL. The South African received plenty of praise on social media for his brilliant batting display, and in particular from SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain David Warner. It is worth noting that the Australian cricketer is the only other foreign player to score more than 5,000 runs in the lucrative tournament.

DC chased down SRH s eight-run target on the last ball of the Super Over
This win gave DC their fourth win in five games in IPL 2021
Sunrisers Hyderabad s (SRH) inept middle-order show foiled their splendid bowling effort as they slumped to yet another in Indian Premier League (IPL), losing Sunday s contest against Delhi Capitals (DC) via Super Over, here. SRH spinners Rashid Khan and Jagadeesha Suchith s tight spells had restricted the DC to 159 for four despite a quick 81-run stand between openers Prithvi Shaw (53) and Shikhar Dhawan (28). However, SRH s over-reliance on their top-order batsmen meant that once skipper David Warner (6) and Jonny Bairstow (38) were dismissed, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson was left to anchor the sinking ship.
