The online session from Sight Advice South Lakes, Support4Sight and Sight Concern will see The Blind Poet, also known as Dave Steele, give a talk about his poetry and life. Mr Steele is an award-winning poet, author, public speaker, singer and advocate for the blind. He was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) in 2014, leaving him severely sight impaired. NASHVILLE, Tenn. They met while working at Waffle House about 10 years ago and have been best friends ever since.
Now they share an even deeper bond because Michael Agostino gave a kidney to Dave Steele.
The friends scheduled the transplant surgery over winter break because Michael is a student at LMU DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate.

Two best buddies both say they re doing well after Dec. 29 surgery to transplant a kidney from one to the other.
Kidney donor Michael Agostino and the recipient, his best friend, Dave Steele, both were released from Vanderbilt University Medical Center on New Year s Day, three days after the transplant, they said. I m doing well, just really sore. It hurts to cough and laugh and sneeze, but other than that, feeling ok, said Steele, 37, who has diabetes that resulted in kidney disease that may have proved fatal without a new kidney.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Civic Center and Promotional Committee met Thursday to discuss business at the Jamestown City Hall.
The committee made the motion to approve changes to the Frontier Village vendor leases, authorize the City Attorney to modify the leases, and authorize the City Attorney to enter into the agreements. The motion was approved.
Later, Jamestown Tourism Executive Director Searle Swedlund informed the committee on their new community calendar.
