AN overgrown woodland has been turned into an oasis of tranquility for the local community. Fowles Funeral Services have developed a garden of reflection at the back of their town centre premises in Delamere Street. New trees, bushes, plants and bulbs have been planted and feeding sites set up for animals. A handmade bench created for people to remember loved ones has also been placed in the new nature reserve. The seat had been removed from the water s edge at Winsford Flashes after being trashed for the second time in a month. Vandals had wrenched six inch bolts out of the ground and tossed aside.
STAFF at a Shell garage in Winsford paid a moving tribute to a much-loved work colleague. Brian Clarke, 62, a forecourt attendant who worked at the garage for nine years, died suddenly at the end of January. Colleagues from the petrol station and Spar shop joined employees from Ladbrokes, where Brian also worked, as his hearse drove into the Delamere Street garage yesterday, Tuesday. The Manchester City fan, who lived in Winsford, was remembered as Blue Moon was played through speakers and blue and white balloons were released. Hamish Gooley, a supervisor at the garage Spar shop, said: Brian was lovely, a really nice person to work with.
