Morawitz spent six years as an art teacher at Hutchinson High School and has taught classes at both the Hutchinson Art Center and the Salina Art Center.

Randall: Abstraction and realism displayed in Hutch

Formerly local Hutch artist and teacher Darren Morawitz is now based in Salina. His studies at Fort Hays State University earned him a BFA in Studio Painting and Art Education. Morawitz taught art classes at Hutchinson High School and at the Hutchinson Art Center.
I met Morawitz back in 2010 during my days of organizing Third Thursday. Morawitz came from Fort Hays to exhibit his paintings at Gallery 7 on Main Street. The paintings were a blend of abstract and realism, a deconstructed view of portraiture. I have two of these works in my collection.
