After taking part in the New Ross Darkness into Light walk last year, Ruairi Ryan asked himself why he had to travel out of his native Enniscorthy to take part in an event which raises money for mental health charity Pieta House.
Taking to the podium to officially launch this year’s Wexford Darkness Into Light in aid of Pieta, few will no better the toll that battles with mental health can take than Seán Kinsella. The well-known businessman was forced to battle his own demons, culminating in an attempt to take his own life a number of years back.
After taking part in the New Ross Darkness into Light walk last year, Ruairi asked himself why he had to travel out of his native Enniscorthy to take part in an event which raises money for mental health charity Pieta House. And so he contacted Pieta himself, along with some other members of the local committee, and this year the Darkness into Light walk returns to Enniscorthy on May 6.
Darkness Into Light, the annual fundraising event organised by Pieta & supported by Electric Ireland, is taking place on Saturday May 6 in 23 locations across Cork.
