An 88-year-old Sheboygan Woman has died in a Manitowoc County crash. Sheriff Daniel Hartwig reported on Thursday that at around 8:10 p.m. on Wednesday.
A newly enacted California law requires employers with 26 or more workers to pay overtime wages to farmworkers. But many worry that the law will put a financial strain on already struggling farmers, forcing them to cut labor costs.
State law now requires some farmers to pay their workers overtime after 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week. Farmworker advocates are celebrating this change, but it’s also created some unintended consequences.
