With entries for the May 14 primary closing at 5 p.m. Friday, only one county commissioner and North Platte City Council race apiece currently will require voters to eliminate candidates.
Incumbents had until 5 p.m. Thursday to file for most races on the May 14 primary ballot. Potential challengers have until 5 p.m. March 1 to decide whether to run.
