Dippin' Dots will be sold to Pennsauken's J&J Snack Foods, a company with over $1 billion in annual sales, by the end of next month. The purchase will help the company grow its sales at venues like theme parks, movie theaters and stadiums, which is where cryogenically frozen balls of ice cream, yogurt or sorbet are most popular. J&J also manufactures iconic brands like ICEE, Slush Puppy, Superpretzel Solt Pretzels and Minute Made's frozen treats.
The Oklahoma City owner of Dippin Dots announced Wednesday it is selling the company for $222 million, just a decade after acquiring it out of bankruptcy.
