Parkview was transformed for £35,000

2021 will mark a very important year for Boyne Rovers and indeed a great anniversary. It was 40 years ago that Parkview s renovation was completed and games began at the venue. The Drogheda Independent was there to report on it. In blazing sunshine, the Mayor, Ald. Fergus O Dowd performed the opening ceremony paying tribute to the magnificent work Boyne Rovers had done in transforming a wasteland into a wonderful pitch at a cost of £35,000. Bishop James Lennon blessed the new facilities and prayers were said for all the past members of Boyne Rovers. Their new ground was the result of nearly seven years of hard work. They were first given the land at Parkview in 1974 and had been working on it for years,

Retailers pleasantly surprised with sales ahead of Christmas

Retailers are reporting good sales with just a number of shopping days left until Christmas. Non-essential retail reopened on December 1st and it is expected it will stay open when new restrictions come into place at the end of the month. Retail Excellence says queues are being managed very well and the public has been compliant with public health advice. Retailers on Dublin s Grafton Street say there has been a great buzz in recent days and that the public has been very careful regarding public health advice. During his annual stroll down the capital s main shopping street earlier this week, Bobby Kerr said there was a better than expected amount of activity.
