Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma on Friday flagged-off the administration of Covid-19 vaccination and commended the Federal Government for the approval of the vaccine.
Performing the flagging-off ceremony at Imo State Primary Health Development Agency ISPHCDA along Umuguma Road New Owerri, the Governor noted that Oxford Astrazeneca vaccine was confirmed all over the world as the most safe, effective and permanent solution to the dreaded virus covid-19.

Indiscriminate disposal of waste in Owerri, the Imo State capital, will no longer be tolerated as the government has put in place measures to check the excesses of those who deliberately violate environmental rules with wastes they generate from the businesses with its concomitant health hazards.
Specifically, the Imo State Government has frowned seriously at the manner Hostels and Eateries in the State dispose Sewage into waterways, saying such can no longer be tolerated.
Briefing newsmen after the regular weekly Executive Council Meeting on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 presided over by the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Hon. Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba said that Exco not only frowned at the improper disposal of waste by Hostels and Eateries into waterways, but that government had taken steps to deal with the situation.

There was confusion at the National Identity Management Commission offices across the country on Monday as Nigerians thronged registration centres to obtain their National Identity Numbers.
The PUNCH correspondents, who monitored registration centres in Lagos, Plateau, Kano and Gombe states as well as the Federal Capital Territory, observed that people struggling to register disregarded COVID-19 preventive measures with many of them pushing one another.
