Houston Cougars 2021 National Signing Day Recap
Houston adds four more recruits, and five transfers on top of them.

National Signing Day came and went, but not without some excitement for the Houston Cougars. While the transfer portal and COVID changed the way teams approached recruiting, it still led for some exciting announcements. Houston inked nine recruits in the early signing period, and added four more today. They also added five players from the transfer portal. Dana Holgorsen and his staff continue to fill needs with guys that fit their system, and they even made quite the splash with one recruit.

In a year that has been like no other, all college football athletes will not have the 2020 season count against their eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Houston football program currently has 21 seniors on its 2020 roster and head coach Dana Holgorsen said he has started to have conversations with some of these student-athletes about their futures.

Houston had lost the last four matchups against Memphis (7-3, 5-3 American Athletic Conference) entering Saturday’s game. UH was unable to shake a slow start and lost its
fifth straight game against the Tigers
The Cougars (3-4, 3-3 AAC) put up the first points of the game, but got outscored 27-3 the rest of the way until a 21-point fourth quarter by UH tied the game.
However, the Cougars’ defense could not hold serve in the final 28 seconds of the game and Memphis won it on a last second field goal.
