May 6 (UPI) The U.S. Air Force s C-17 Globemaster III cargo plane was deployed for the first time on the Korean Peninsula during joint U.S.-South Korea military exercises, according to reports.
The C-17 landed at Daegu Air Base in South Korea on Monday about noon, arriving from a U.S. military air base in Okinawa, South Korean newspaper JoongAng Ilbo reported Thursday.

The new Biden administration in Washington is reviewing its North Korea policy, a process that is expected to be completed next month. Pressure from experts is mounting for the administration to restart diplomacy with North Korea with more pragmatic goals, such as a shift away from complete denuclearisation in the near term to an aim of arms control.
