PHILADELPHIA  The Clemson track and field program had two athletes make their way into the school record book on Thursday at Penn Relays. Brynne Sumner and Maddie Dinneen both set impressive personal bests on their way onto top-10 lists. While only a few Tigers competed on the opening day of the relays, most of the team will make their meet debut on Friday. Action begins at 11:55 a.m. with the women's distance medley relay, and will run through 6:25 p.m. concluding with the men's sprint medley relay. THURSDAY HIGHLIGHTS Brynne Sumner set a massive PR in the 1500 meter run, finishing the race in 4:20.96. That time is sixth-best in Clemson history and puts Sumner on her second top-10 list of the season. She holds the No. 7 spot in the 800 meter run. COLUMBIA, S.C.  The Clemson track and field team performed well at the USC Open on Saturday, competing in windy conditions and making the most of it. The group is closing in on the championship phase of its season and both the men and women are primed to make a run at the ACC title in Raleigh, N.C. from May 11-13. FULL RESULTS HIGHLIGHTS Lashanna Graham set the No. 1o time in school history in the 400 meter run. Her mark of 52.17 seconds put her on her second list of the outdoor season including her No. 6 position on the 400 meter hurdles list. Cameron Rose ran a blistering 10.07 second 100 meter dash, aided by a 3.6 meters per second tailwind. Had it been wind legal, his time would've been No. 6 in school history. The women's 4x100 meter relay of Ockera Myrie, Oneka Wilson, Antoinette Van der Merwe and Courtney Williams finished first with a time of 44.34 seconds. Local NAACP Branch Holds Virtual Forum For City Council Districts 7 And 8 Tuesday Sunday, January 31, 2021 The Chattanooga-Hamilton County NAACP branch will host a virtual forum for City Council Districts 7 and 8 on Tuesday at 7 p.m.  Local Branch President Ann Pierre said, “The forum that is to be presented represents two districts that share a downtown boundary in Chattanooga but diverse out boundaries.” The community is invited to post their questions for the candidates during the forum, some of which will be selected and answered after the prepared questions. Additional forums for City Council candidates and the remaining field of mayoral candidates are scheduled weekly until all candidates are presented prior to early voting Feb. 10-25.
