Team USA World Masters track athlete Cynthia Monteleone said she was advised to keep quiet after she raised concerns over a fair playing field when competing against transgender athletes.
Cynthia Monteleone, 45, is one of the US foremost Masters athletes, but yesterday revealed her own team told her not to complain about having to compete against trans competitors.
Experienced artists Cynthia Monteleone of Nāpili and Zoe Leroy of Kahana are donating time and material to create public murals on walls outside homes off Lahainaluna Road. “The joy is spreading contagiously to others,” Monteleone said. “That’s why I’m doing this. It’s not for me and it’s definite not for the money it’s for the community.”
