Uniindia: Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), Oct 31 (UNI) The Cyclonic Circulation over Southwest Bay of Bengal off South Sri Lanka Coast now lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal off North Sri Lanka coast tilting southwards with height and extends upto 3.1 km above mean sea level, Meteorological Centre said on Monday.
Uniindia: Hyderabad, Oct 24 (UNI) The Cyclonic Storm “Sitrang” pronounced as “Si-Trang” over Eastcentral & adjoining areas of Westcentral & Northwest Bay of Bengal moved north northeastwards with a speed of 21 kmph during thepast 6 hours and lay centered at 0830 hours on Monday over Northwest and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal near latitude 18.3 °N and longitude 88.9 °E, about 380 km south of Sagar Island and 520 km south southwest of Barisal (Bangladesh).
Union Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba on Friday reviewed the preparedness of Central ministries, agencies and state governments to deal with the situation arising out of Cyclone Sitrang developing in the Bay of Bengal during the National Crisis Management Committee (NCMC) meeting.
In view of the possible cyclonic storms in Bay of Bengal, Odisha Government on Monday asked district collectors to remain alert and closely monitor the situation.
