COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado â More than 30 local restaurants and businesses have teamed up to hold a hiring event Thursday morning in Colorado Springs. The job fair will be held at the Pinery at the Hill at 775 W. Bijou Street from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Mackenzie Tamayo, the COVID-19 Program Manager for the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) said there s a shortage of employees in Colorado s restaurant and hospitality industries. These businesses have lost roughly 30 percent of their workforce during the pandemic, or about 70,000 positions statewide.

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - The Small Business Development Center and Minnesota State University, Mankato are helping entrepreneurs begin, grow and navigate business amid the pandemic.
Monday, people can begin to sign up for four free upcoming programs that cover a variety of topics; including a workshop for women entrepreneurs, another for online business fundamentals and more.
The programming is made possible through a partnership between SBDC and MSU.
“We wanted to create some programmings of needs that we are hearing from many individuals, to create things that people can come together and really network opposed to one-on-one consulting,” said MSU Director of Workforce Development, Tammy Bohlke.
A study suggests small businesses in Charlottesville and across Virginia are starting to turn a corner as we all slowly try to bounce back to normal life.

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) â In response to the child care shortage in Minnesota, a new partnership provides support for the stateâs child care industry.
Minnesota Small Business Development Center and the nonprofit First Childrenâs Finance partnership provides specialized business and financial assistance to child care businesses at no cost.
âThis is a really good opportunity for those considering opening a child care center or those that might be looking to pivot their current centers to get some free, technical support which then will make them eligible for potential financial assistance programs,â said Mike Hahn, regional director at the Small Business Development Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
