HOPKINS, Minn. Variety is the spice of life they say, and that truly is the case in Hopkins on Main Street.
It s got all sorts of businesses and with that, varying policies on how to move forward with masks.
Business has been pretty good at Amy s Cupcake Shoppe, even throughout the pandemic.
Front house manager Josie Sandford said despite the state dropping the mask mandate, they will not be. We think it s still super important to keep our masks on, Sandford said. I know that the goal is for 70% of all vaccinated people, and we re not at that goal yet. So we re planning on ensuring that all of our customers keep our masks on as well as all of our staff.
Small businesses use cross-promotion to help each other out
The concept is pretty simple: We re stronger together. In Hopkins some small businesses are doing their best to make sure they all survive. Author: Rena Sarigianopoulos Updated: 4:12 PM CST February 11, 2021
HOPKINS, Minn. If you own a business, you ve learned a lot in the last year. And one thing small businesses have learned, is that leaning on each other makes you stronger. Supporting each other is lifting all of us up, right?” says Ali Hanson, owner of the Vine Room and the Vine Shop in Hopkins, Minnesota.
The cute wine bar and shop had just expanded before the pandemic hit and closed everything down. They were able to keep everyone on staff and are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. And, they know their neighbors are in the same space, so they’ve tried something new. Cross-promoting each other.
It can be easy to get into a rut when it comes to takeout.
For Super Bowl Sunday, maybe it’s time to try something new. Here are some of our favorites from North Haven and New Haven, down to East Haven, over to Old Saybrook, and up to Chester, Deep River, and Essex.
While many of these places are open and will be serving a full menu on game day, for the best shot at specials and the best selection, order as far in advance as possible.
If you have one you’d like to add that is in that area, email me with the details before Friday, Feb. 5 at 4 p.m., at p.mcnerney@shorepublishing.com, put Super Bowl in the message field, and we’ll try to get it in.
