Cuban Engineers latest: EFF Welcomes deployment
The EFF has welcomed the deployment of Cuban engineers who will assist in South Africa s water crisis through transfer of skills to locals.
The Economic Freedom Fighters has welcomed the arrival of 24 Cuban engineers who will assist in the water crisis in South Africa
In a statement released on Friday, 23 April, the party said that the engineers come in to bolster South Africa’s efforts of building internal capacity in areas of expertise in local engineers, as opposed to the “foolish agenda of privatising water supply and infrastructure developments.”

Human settlements, water and sanitation minister Lindiwe Sisulu says SA s rural areas will benefit from the deployment of 24 Cuban engineers.
They were not in SA to take jobs but to share experience and impart technical skills to SA water engineers, she told a briefing to welcome the team in Pretoria on Thursday.

Johannesburg – Water and Sanitation Minister Lindiwe Sisulu has called on South Africans to embrace Cuban Engineers and assured them that they are not here to take any jobs.
Sisulu said the engineers were seconded in the country to assist the government s efforts on water delivery and related services.
This follows some South Africans who questioned if there are not enough skills in the country, for the ministry to seek assistance from Cuba.
The engineers are in the country for three years and will assist in the area of infrastructure maintenance and operation skills throughout the water value chain from source to tap, with the majority being seconded at water/river clusters and at municipalities to provide training.
