Santa Barbara County could soon be moving into a less restrictive COVID-19 tier.
That s because of a new
state vaccination metric that health officials say could push Santa Barbara County into the red tier as soon as this Friday or possibly early next week, but the state has to reach 2 million vaccine doses first.
During the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, the director of the county health department, Dr. Van Do-Reynoso, said the possibility of California meeting that marker looks reachable. With the state nearing 1.9 million vaccines so far.
